·      The 8000 tonnes of garbage that arrives day and night attracts low income families who are seeking a reliable source of income

·      Often these families get contracted to middle men who provides accommodation

·      The living conditions are inadequate making the families vulnerable to the weather and diseases

·      There is a lack of opportunity for theses families to escape the situation, younger members of the families are drawn into waste work to help out
